Daisy does Snow

HAPPY FEBRUARY! And what a February it is, SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW! Holy cow, so much snow. It started on Sunday and although, there was only about an inch by the afternoon, I loved being covered in flakes and shredding sticks. My mom assured me that there would be more snow for me to play and roll in, so I reluctantly went to bed Sunday night, right next to the door. As promised, I woke up Monday and HELLO SNOW! There was about a foot on the porch- I was so happy.

To make things even better, it snowed ALL DAY Monday and it didn’t even end until Tuesday night. In some spots, it is as tall or maybe even taller than me. It is hard to tell, though, because I porpoise through like a dolphin or I just plow through.

My mom and dad shoveled a path all the way around the house for my fur brother, Waylon and I, but we like to cut our own paths too. We zoomed around the yard. Around and around and around and around. We stopped sometimes to stare at each other, and then wrestle, but for the most part we were on the move. Waylon and I even cut our own path up the mountain to have a bird’s eye view of the whole yard. It was hard work to get up there, but it was necessary. I like to call my expeditions off the path shoveled for us, snow swimming. It is just like swimming, but harder. Doing it nonstop for so long makes me way more tired than swimming ever did.

During and after the storm, I worked quite a bit to help my human brother, Alden sled. He simply cannot go down the hill without me, I know it. When I let him go down solo (I think only once), I sprinted to the end afterwards to see if he was okay. Otherwise, I always clear the way for him, and I am on the lookout for any critters that may get in his way. Anyways, it has been over 72 hours of non-stop snow fun and I will tell you I am exhausted. Each night I have slept like an absolute dog!

Until next time paw peeps, happy tails.
