I like things to be organized.
There are so many things in life that are messy;
relationships,
dog paws after a rainstorm,
break ups,
cooking,
family dynamics,
crafts with children,
marriage,
babies,
jobs,
politics
and the list goes on.
While I cannot and should not control many of those messy things, there are some things I can and should control.
I can control my to-do lists. I can control the relative cleanliness of my home. I can control how I organize my pantry, closet, and workspace. I can control what we eat for dinner each night.
I can and should control my actions. I can and should control my reactions. I can and should control how I compartmentalize. I can and should control how I process messy situations.
Sometimes the people I have relationships with will disappoint me.
Sometimes the dogs will get the floors muddy.
Sometimes it is best to cut ties with someone even when it hurts.
Sometimes the best meals make the kitchen a disaster zone.
Sometimes family makes you damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Sometimes paint and tears will spill when crafting with kids.
Sometimes marriage feels more give than take.
Sometimes babies will shit everywhere.
Sometimes jobs will feel thankless.
Sometimes politics prove more infuriating than freeing.
Just organizing this writing into the way I wanted it to flow was satisfying, it was something I could easily control, after a while of not being able to control much else.
Organizing helps me let things be, that need to be left.
And that is my Monday Perspective…
Today's song is classic, yes Let it Be.
