When all the world is crazy and I cannot control a thing

I hear your rhythmic sleep, the measured breaths you sing.

Toy sharks, dinos and fish, a blankey under your arm.

Your face contented and at peace, no cause for alarm.

I stop and watch each breath, the rise and fall of your dreams;

And my weariness starts to ebb, nothing is what it seems.

A dinosaur adventure, a shark in the ocean’s deep,

A snake, a frog, a bug, or a floor is lava leap!

Your dreams are now mine, and they will be forever -

Until my last breath, they’ll be my very best endeavor.

So sleep my boy, my sweet, sweet gentle soul

Another day is coming, and a day older will be the toll.
