Firefly
Firefly
Flickering in the distance.
A spark of light is shown.
A heart after my own.
Through the field of darkness.
Keeping on forever,
Trying to find her soul.
Letting the light guide her-
Filling some lonely hole...
Summer nights of heat,
Can make sparks that fly.
Warm summer breezes,
Could also make her cry. Firefly.
Firefly
Firefly
Beaming until she doesn't.
Reaching for the light.
Long into the night.
Without being able to see.
A connection made or lost,
She tries with all she knows.
When the sun sets over the mountain,
She's all that shines and glows.
When summer whispers its end,
Time to shift and decide.
A few more flickers of brilliance
Until the spark has reluctantly died.
The splendor and show is over,
The season's turned, she can't deny
Her efforts were valiant and beautiful
No one can say she didn't try. Firefly.
